What is Ballet Fit?

 

Ballet Fit is an exercise program based on classical ballet, yoga and mat pilates.

Beginning at the barre, where exercises are performed to strengthen, lengthen and tone muscles; improve balance; and develop a strong core.

Classes designed for all ages, flexibility ranges and most importantly for the purposes of fun! Group sessions and private lessons available.


Adult Ballet Fit Classes

Adult Ballet (13 yrs and above)

This class will cover basic ballet positions, steps and vocabulary with a focus on the student's awareness of proper posture and body alignment. Standing barre work and center floor exercises will be given to enhance coordination, strength, balance and flexibility. The study of ballet improves posture, general health and coordination whilst giving the opportunity to express and communicate through music and movement. This class is suitable for students with little or no previous experience of ballet

 

Ballet Fit (13 yrs and above)

Ballet Fit is a great workout for the whole body. Ballet is a weight-bearing form of exercise which strengthens muscles, promotes healthy bones and burns calories. Because ballet uses the full range of muscles, it's also great for cognitive functions such as coordination and concentration.

Youth Classes

Ballet 1 (5-6 yrs)

This beginning level class is designed to develop awareness of alignment and basic ballet vocabulary and technique. Class will include basic barre exercises, as well as center work. Your child will have a fun time learning the secrets behind becoming a great ballerina or danseur!

Ballet 2 (7-8 yrs)

This class will focus on ballet terminology and technique through the execution of barre work, center, and across the floor exercises. Your child will have a clear understanding of body alignment, movement quality, carriage of upper body, and flexibility.

 

Ballet 3 (8-11 yrs)

These levels are Advanced. Extensive prior ballet experience is required.

This class will focus on classical ballet technique through a professional class progression. Barre work, center and across the floor exercises are designed to better your technique, as well as performance quality and confidence. With quality and knowledgeable teaching, and an encouraging environment, these classes will be a perfect fit for those who aspire to improve their dancing, and artistry.
